I enjoyed the lingerie, the pretty frilly items. I liked to look at the sex toys, the cuffs and blindfolds, gags, paddles, and masks. But the rubber items, those were the ones that stretched over my day, snapping through my mind when I least expected it. Anything, everything, could take me back to those windows.
The lemon-yellow dishwashing gloves resting innocently on the stainless steel sink in the break room would make me think of elbow-length black rubber gloves I’d seen pinned to a wall in that window. A ball of multicolored rubber bands residing lazily on a coworker’s desk would remind me of a red rubber ball gag strapped to the face of an unseeing mannequin. The burnt-licorice scent of tires as I walked through the parking garage would make me want to press my nose to the window shielding the displays and see if I could inhale the scent through that wall of glass. The visions built within me, until I could hardly each day wait to get back home, to my empty apartment, to my world of privacy.
Keys thrown onto the coffee table.
Pencil skirt discarded on the way down the hall.
A shoe here.
A shoe there.
A rabid rush to the center of the mattress, to the safety of my own fantasy world.

Decided to read this story at lunch. Made for a very hot and exciting break. Absolutely love the way Alison Tyler can bring you into her story. I felt like I was peeking through the window with her. I didn't think I had a rubber fetish until I read this story. Perfect short sexy story.
This story is very well-written with great imagery and a brilliant flash of insight towards the end. Don't worry about the unfortunate use of the word 'cheeky' in the description. Highly recommended, but remember, this is fetish erotica in a fairly literal sense.
I love this story. It builds up with a longing for latex and shows it very well. Details are in just the right places, the sound and feel of rubber, the private way of putting it on. The author does a wonderful job of showing the main character's obsession before we get into the fun bits.
Once the two characters interact, it is a smooth introduction and teasing. I like the line about a window. It added to the scene, but also showed his own interests in her.
And when the story gets to the latex bit, it is exquisite. Just the details, though rushed, of stripping down and slipping it own. It was a very enjoyable ending to a short little story.
The biggest complaint is... it's too short for me. Short in two ways. There is so much details with the initial gloves scene, that I was hoping for a corresponding amount during the final dressing. It felt rushed to me, leaving a lot to my poor imagination instead of giving me more details. But, I also like to know every little thing.
The other is the shortness of the story. Yeah, it was obvious from the estimated page count, but there is something about buying a short story and getting to the end desperately craving that it continued. It is the talent of the author that makes me want more to this story, which makes the shortness more pronounced.
There's just something about Alison Tyler's writing that always leaves me yearning for more. It's the way she plucks words from midair and sews them together into some fetish quilt. "Rubbernecking" is no different. She builds perfect imagery and climaxes beautifully.
